The overnight rebuild keeps faith with Wayback paths that earned links. Ranking species live at historic slugs such as /kangaroos/, /echidnas/, and /bilby/. Hubs include /marsupials/, /faq/, /native-flora-of-australia/, and /riversleigh-fossils/. Extra guides (koala, platypus, common wombat) stay under /species/{slug}/. Classic .htm aliases are 301s in next.config.

Learning and adoption

Older “learning / adoption” pages on this domain were education framing, not a pet program. They redirect here. If you want to support recovery, use a reputable organisation’s published channels — and never “adopt” a wild joey yourself.

What this domain is for

Australian Wildlife is an independent education hub at australianwildlife.com.au. We publish species guides with scientific names and public listings, region essays that treat habitat as a geography problem, conservation context that cites EPBC and IUCN language, and a photography ethic that says no to baiting. We are not a government agency, not Parks Australia, not a zoo, not a wildlife park, and not a rescue service.

The contact address for corrections, credits, and pitches is [email protected]. That inbox does not dispatch rangers.

Photographs are from Wikimedia Commons contributors under their published licences. Guest contributions remain the copyright of their authors unless otherwise agreed.
